Filmmaker Lillee Jean Trueman on New TV Show and Bullyish Global Success (MEDIUM Interview)

Lillee Jean Trueman, New York City director and trained actor, was recently interviewed for Authority Magazine's new series on filmmakers making an impact. In the interview, with Rabbi Yitzi Weiner's paper, which was published on October 31, 2025, Trueman discussed the impact of her globally successful documentary Project: Bullyish.

Project: Bullyish film won several awards and screened internationally, with viral success in France, most recently. Her documentary film is groundbreaking for opening the door to the dark realities of criminal harassment and the manipulation tactics within digital media corporations. Her vital work beyond film extends from personal experiences Trueman has faced, such as, criminal A.I. deepfake nonconsensual photography being published and traded of her body online. The director's work aims to empower women to know their rights and not become victims of online abuse. "Don't be a victim of these crimes, report them to the proper legal and criminal entities," she has said.

On the directorial front, Trueman has expounded further on taking the helm of the book-to-TV series "Write to Kill," adapted from the novel by David P. Perlmutter. The series will be filmed in both London and New York City, with her bringing the vision to life, serving also as an executive producer on the upcoming production.

Lillee Jean Trueman is a multi-award-winning director, actress, filmmaker, writer, and producer from New York City. Lillee Jean is best known for her two-time award-winning celebrity talk show, Lillee Jean TALKS! Live, featuring beloved Hollywood stars such as Donny Most, and her award-winning, unique films. Trueman has globally reached markets and won several nominations for her performances in 'The Mission is Complete, Angelique', 'The Trapper Trap - The Rise of Princess Glamourite', and 'The Chorus in Our Eyes'. Trueman is also known for directing and producing the viral, award-winning documentary film, Project Bullyish, a gritty and celebrated film, debuting in 2024 in California.

Lillee Jean's current television work includes HBO's 'The Gilded Age' S3, as well as a recurring guest-star role (March-May, 2024) on 'The FNL Network Talkshow', where she was awarded a Special Achievement Honoree award for the Entertainment and Lifestyle News category. In 2025, Trueman signed on to direct the best-selling book-to-TV series Write to Kill, set to be filmed in iconic locations across London and New York with a Hollywood cast.
